OTUSUN LAND 2021 Fundraising!

Thanks to all 60 of our generous backers, we've completed the campaign with our goal met and exceeded! Altogether we raised $1,281 - that's over $50 per backer, an incredible show of support! We can't thank all of you enough.

So, what next? We'll begin setting up the BackerKit page for the campaign, and we expect to have that ready by the end of the month. Another update will go out when we're ready to launch, so look forward to more info about that then!

As mentioned before, we also hope to be able to share an English demo of the game soon! We don't have an ETA quite yet, but our goal is to have it available early for backers via BackerKit as soon as surveys go out. We'll then post it publicly a couple of weeks later!

Some of you might also be a bit curious about the countdown stream we promised - well, we had some technical difficulties, but head over here to take a look at what we managed to show off! To make up for things being not quite what we promised, we're going to put together a prerecorded playthrough of some of the demo and share that here and publicly in the coming weeks as well.

That about wraps it up for now, but we want to thank all of you again for your generous support, and we hope you're excited to play Hippoboar Rancher soon!

Dawn has now come in Japan, and the development team has seen the good news! Artist and programmer Himono even whipped up a little celebration image:

We want to thank everyone so much again for your support! As promised, here's a longer look at the game in progress, in English! Please do remember that we're still deep in development, so some things might still look a little off, but it should give you a good idea of what to expect.

With a little over a day to go, and thanks to all of your generous contributions, we've just surpassed our goal and we'll be able to bring Hippoboar Rancher to everyone in English! Hippoboargers for everyone!

To celebrate, we'll be back later this evening with another update sharing a quick sneak peek at what we'll be showing off in the countdown stream tomorrow. In the meantime, you can celebrate the impending hippoboar stampede with all your friends!

The final week! A new add-on, more game previews, and countdown stream announcement!

Hey all! We're less than a week from the end of the campaign, and thanks to all your support, we're more than 75% of the way to our goal! We're super confident that we'll hit the goal with our final push, and to help make that happen, we've got a smorgasbord of updates today.

First off, we have a new add-on item: the postcard and pamphlet set!

The set includes four postcards with original artwork, and an 8-page, full-color pamphlet with even more bonus art and story content (in English, of course)! It'll be available as an add-on on BackerKit for $18 plus shipping after the campaign ends.

Next, let's have a few more peeks at the game! Development continues to be proceeding steadily - you may recall in a previous update we gave you a look at the corral, but there weren't any hippoboars. Well guess what?

And where did we get those hippoboars from, you ask? Well (obviously), we found them in the forest and teleported them back to our ranch!

For a final little preview, here's a sketch of a special NPC character funded by a supporter on the Japanese crowdfunding campaign for the game!

Rota will star in his very own quest in the finished game...and in the demo! Unfortunately we don't anticipate the demo being available before the end of the campaign, but it'll be available for all backers as soon as it's ready, most likely sometime in October.

However, we do want to be able to share at least some of the game in English before the campaign ends, so the localization team of Ian and Molly will be hosting a countdown stream for the last 30 minutes of the campaign! We'll walk you through a few quests in an English development build of the game, field questions, and celebrate our success with everyone, so don't miss it! Again, that'll be at 7:30 PM PT on September 12. Be there!

Extended cast and character introductions, plus a peek at a custom hippoboar!

Hello, everyone! We hope you're doing well. Our biggest announcement today is that the voice cast for the game has been finalized! As we introduce them, we'll tell you a little more about the characters they'll be playing as well. Read on to check out the details!

 Takashima Kousuke as the Hippoboars

The adorable, grumbly little hippoboars will be voiced by Takashima Kousuke! You might recognize Kousuke from an earlier OTUSUN LAND game: he played the part of Hisamatsu Daigo in Neighbor. We can see a bit of resemblance between the two parts! Kousuke is an established actor with appearances in a number of audio dramas, stages shows, and more.

 Totsuki Touma as Logan Lansdale

Our protagonist Logan Lansdale is being portrayed by Totsuki Touma, who reprises the role from OTUSUN CLUB titles nEroErosso and Lo scenario. We could think of no one better to bring life to Logan's toils with Eve and his trusty herd of hippoboars.

 Komati as Sheeris

Komati voices Sheeris, who is actually the daughter of William Bloom, a character in OTUSUN CLUB's The Bell Chimes For Gold. As the local herbalist, Sheeris grows to be quite fond of Logan, doting on him in an almost motherly way. Komati is returning to this role after voicing Sheeris in nEroErosso, and has also appeared in other OTUSUN titles including Neighbor!

Iwori as Gandou

Gandou is the dwarf who owns the local guild, a man whose hair seems to have escaped from his head to live on his chin. He'll be brought to life by voice actor Iwori.

Sugiyama Atsushi as Joe

If you visit nearby town pub The Golden Ram, you're sure to run into Joe, proprietor of the establishment. He may look like a pushover from the front, with his slender frame and bespectacled face, but regular patrons always keep one eye on his rear legs - get out of line and a single kick will send you into next week. Joe is being voiced by Sugiyama Atsushi.

That does it for the casting call, but here's one more little sneak peek for you: a look at a one-of-a-kind, unique hippoboar designed especially for a supporter!

This beauty, the Glammoboar, is just one special hippoboar breed which will show up in-game thanks to a generous supporter. There's still time to make your own contribution and round out the hippoboar ranks, so don't miss out!

There's just a little over two weeks to go on the campaign, and while we're doing very well so far thanks to your support, we still need a pretty big push to hit our goal. We'll continue to have more updates, including at least one preview video of gameplay, but we also need your help! We hope we can count on you to continue to spread the word about the campaign, especially in the days leading up to the end.
